Residential Service

If you are a new member moving onto our lines or an existing member moving to a different location, you must notify our office as soon as possible. Once all information is received the service will be connected the following business day.

Deposit Requirements

A security deposit for residential service must be collected prior to electric service connection. The deposit is the highest bill at that location in the past 12 month period with a minimum of $150.00. Deposits can be paid by cash, check or credit card.

In lieu of a deposit, Southern Iowa Electric will accept a letter of credit from your previous utility company providing it shows the past 12 months history with not more than two late payments.

Connect Fees

A $75.00 Reconnect Fee will be charged if connecting a service that has previously been in your name.
