To highlight our commitment to innovation, Southern Iowa Electric is offering a renewable energy program. Using energy created by wind, members may choose to purchase all or some of their energy from this renewable source.

The premium, for the Renewable Choice Program is added to the amount you are already paying for electricity. Renewable energy is sold in 100-kilowatt hour (kWh) blocks with a twelve-month commitment. Many residential customers will average through the year 1000 kWh?s each month of electric usage. With the purchase of one block, 10% of the energy used in the home will have come from a renewable source.

The cost for Renewable Choice with this first offering is $2.00/100 kWh?s. This means for each 100 kWh block that is purchased, a $2.00 charge will be added to the current electric bill.
